Dan and
Jacinta's Fancy Dress Wedding
It's not
everyday that you get to photograph a fancy dress wedding but recently I was
lucky enough to do so. This wedding had a Halloween theme and the guests
were invited to dress "to impress or scare". It seems the bride and groom
actually met on Halloween and wanted to incorporate this special day into their
wedding. Let me tell you there were people dressed as road accidents,
1920's flappers, Tv characters and I do believe some of the male guests took
the opportunity to cross dress. It certainly set up a wonderful atmosphere of
fun! The bride was given away by her "magician" father!

Jacinta is a gorgeous looking girl, with funky short hair and
she certainly made a beautiful bride. She chose to wear a pale pink
wedding dress which was just amazing. Her bridesmaids wore dresses of
black...to go with the Halloween theme of course! Jacinta chose to carry a
bouquet of delicate coloured roses which blended with her dress
beautifully.

Don't they
just look beautiful! The bridesmaids carried pale cream parisols which
was a very cute touch.

And
the boys looked just as dapper in their braces and bowler
hats!

Jacinta and
the girls arrived with her father (Mandrake the Magician) in a bright yellow
vintage car which belongs to Jacinta's brother. Please don't ask me to
tell you the make and model or I will just embarrass myself with my lack of
knowledge about anything to do with cars...!

Jacinta was
all smiles as her father "gave her away", as was the crowd, all dressed in
their Halloween finery.

I love this
next photo of Dan watching his bride walk towards him. His eyes were
focused solely on Jacinta...awww.

In fact,
they only had eyes for each other during the entire wedding
ceremony!

And then the
vows were promised...

And it
was all sealed with a kiss...

Have
you ever seen a happier bride...?

And then it
was time to whisk the bride and groom away for their formal portrait
session. This was done on the farm that Jacinta grew up on. It was
an amazing place to do wedding photography, as there was a myriad of
spectacular backdrops...from huge fig trees, to rustic sheds to a delapidated
old house...check out the results:

One of my
favourite portraits from the day is the following one. Dan and Jacinta
have a great sense of humour and when they booked me, they said they wanted to
do a version of the famous painting "American Gothic" as one of their official
portraits. Needless to say, it was hard for anyone to keep a straight
face while we were doing this. Isn't it great!?!

We then went
inside the old house and took some wedding photos in there. Inside, there
was some beautiful natural light filtering through a window...very romantic
results:

The vintage
car was certainly a great prop to have for their wedding
photography!
