Renee and Craig were married in the sunshine on a beautiful Spring day
on the fabulous Gold Coast. I loved every minute of being their photographer!
excitement buzzing around Renee and her bridesmaids as they got ready
for her wedding to Craig was electric; there were giggles and singing
and oohing and aahing over Renee's wedding dress when she finally
emerged from the bedroom in her bridal finery. She had kept the
design of her wedding dress secret from her bridesmaids with the intent
of surprising them, with me ready to photograph their expressions when
they finally laid eyes on it. I have to say, it was a pretty
spectacular wedding dress, with delicate lace encrusted in diamontes.
Renee and her girls got ready in a private house not far from the
ceremony location, Craig and his groomsmen took a more relaxed approach
in a beachfront apartment overlooking the Gold Coast and the ocean,
sharing a few beers before the wedding ceremony began.
venue, The Southport Yacht Club was a picturesque destination for their
wedding, both ceremony and reception. Guests were afforded spectacular
views over the harbour, stunning yachts of all sizes forming a gorgeous
backdrop for their nuptials.
was off to South Port Beach for their wedding photography after the
ceremony and family portraits were concluded. The weather was
beautiful, despite the rain that had been the lead up to the wedding.
The Gold Coast had nothing but blue skies and perfect
temperatures on the day which the bride was very grateful for!
is my favourite part of the day as a wedding photographer; when I have
the couple to myself and we can concentrate on getting some very
romantic portraits, a symbol of their unconditional love for one
another. Despite South Port Beach being littered with hundreds of
people at the time (hey, it is the Gold Coast after all!), I was able
to photograph them in such a way that it looks like they had the entire
beach to themselves.
favourite part of my day as the wedding photographer is the reception
(okay, I think every part of the day is my favouirite!) and the South
Port Yacht Club put on an exception show! The vast upstairs room
was superbly and tastefully decorated and the guests had a sensational
night! From my memory, I think the speech made by the groom's
younger sister brought the house down, with tears of laughter rolling
down many a cheek. And the photobooth provided quite a few hilarious
photo opportunities for me, as guests went in and out.
Renee and Craig on an amazing wedding day. Thank you from the
bottom of my heart for choosing me to be your wedding photographer!
